SUFFRAGE

Coming to Baltimore Theatre Project: SUFFRAGE, a politically charged concert featuring ballet and modern dance. Featuring BlueShift Dance and Vaught Contemporary Ballet. Celebrate and USE your right to vote and see what it took to get us here.

"I do pray, and that most earnestly and constantly, for some terrific shock to startle the women of the nation into a self-respect which will compel them to see the absolute degradation of their present position; which will compel them to break their yoke of bondage and give them faith in themselves; which will make them proclaim their allegiance to women first... The fact is, women are in chains, and their servitude is all the more debasing because they do not realize it. O to compel them to see and feel and to give them the courage and the conscience to speak and act for their own freedom, though they face the scorn and contempt of all the world for doing it!"
- Susan B. Anthony, 1872

Drawing the Universe

See three dance companies perform in Drawing the Universe, featuring works from the Baltimore DC Metro area.

BlueShift Dance is joined by two guest artists: LucidBeings Dance, of Ellicott City, and SylviDances, from D.C. Each company explores the stuff we’re made of, from the subatomic, to the emotional, to the political, to the global, to the universal.

In its premiere, BlueShift Dance's "Reclamation" explores Earth’s seemingly angry nature, in the wake of devastating hurricanes, floods, fires, and mudslides. Is our beautiful planet trying to reclaim her territory from humankind? Donations will be collected to benefit victims of natural disasters, past and current, here: https://www.directrelief.org/emergency/ At each performance, BlueShift Dance will facilitate donations via cash, check, and credit card. Please consider giving.

“Even with all our technology and the inventions that make modern life so much easier than it once was, it takes just one big natural disaster to wipe all that away and remind us that, here on Earth, we're still at the mercy of nature.” - Neil deGrasse Tyson

Preceding the concert, BlueShift Dance is offering workshops in Fosse, Forsythe, and Modern Technique. These master classes are only $10 each! Find more information on our "Workshops" page.
